New Jawa: Bigger Engine, Less Power, “Is it okay to ask why? “

India’s Jawa today announced a new Jawa models, the Jawa 350. It uses a 334 cc single-cylinder engine, which is also found in many other Jawa-Yezdi models.

The Jawa collection developed in India got a new member with the Jawa 350 announced today. The price of the bike in India is 215,000 rupees, which is equivalent to 2367 euros. For that money, you can get quite a lot of usable motorcycles.

The new Jawa 350 replaces the previous “classic” Jawa in the company’s lineup, with numerous changes compared to the previous model.

The new engine is a four-stroke single-cylinder and liquid-cooled, with a volume of 334 cm3. Despite its larger size, it produces less power, 22.5 hp/7000 rpm, than the previous version’s smaller 293 cm3 engine. Its peak power was 27.3 hp.

The peak torque of 28.2 Nm/5000 rpm is 1 Nm more, and it comes into use at a lower rpm than before, and there should be more torque in the lower and middle ranges.

There are six gears and the engine is equipped with a slip clutch.

The new Jawa’s main competitor is the Royal Enfield Classic 350, which is slightly more affordable and weighs a kilo less than its 13.5-liter tank with its mass of 194 kilograms.

The engine is placed in a double cradle frame. There is a telescopic suspension with a tube diameter of 35 mm at the front and two shock absorbers at the back with adjustable spring pretension.

There is a 280 mm brake disc in the front and a 240 mm brake disc in the rear. Two-channel ABS manufactured by Continental comes as standard. The bike has spoke rims and inner rubber tires. The tire sizes are 100/90-18 at the front and 130/70-18 at the rear.

The seat height is 790 mm and the ground clearance is 178 mm.

The bike will go on sale in India in three different colour options: the classic Jawan red, black and the new Mystique Orange.

The Jawa 350 is Rs 10,000 cheaper than the Royal Enfield Classic 350 which costs Rs 2,477 in India.

Other Jawa models currently in production are the Jawa 42, Jawa 42 Bobber and Jawa Perak.
