Boosting Exports, the 2024 GIICOMVEC Exhibition will be Enlivened by New Brands

The GAIKINDO Indonesia International Commercial Vehicle Expo (GIICOMVEC) 2024 is scheduled to take place in the near future.

Yohannes Nangoi, Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (GAIKINDO), stated that this major event dedicated to commercial vehicles aims to boost national vehicle exports.

“The export market for commercial vehicles is still very large. By organizing the exhibition, the export figures can continue to increase and contribute more to the Indonesian motor vehicle industry,” he said at the GIICOMVEC press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday (7/2/2024).

According to GAIKINDO data, current motor vehicle exports from Indonesia are recorded at 505,134 units.

Of this half-million figure, 8.18 percent is contributed by commercial vehicles.

GIICOMVEC is scheduled to take place from March 7 to 10, 2024, at the Jakarta Convention Center.

For this third edition, GIICOMVEC will feature several new brands including Foton, VKTR, and Wuling.

This exhibition, targeting B2B transactions, will continue to feature established brands such as Daihatsu, Toyota Mitsubishi Motors, Mitsubishi Fuso, Suzuki, Isuzu, Hino, UD Trucks, Mercedes-Benz Truck & Bus, and Scania.

In addition to brand holder agents, GIICOMVEC 2024 will also feature other industry players such as bodywork, spare parts, and accessories.

“GIICOMVEC 2024 will showcase the latest products and technologies needed to support government and private sector business needs, ranging from light commercial vehicles, heavy commercial vehicles, to body parts,” said Nangoi.

Nangoi also noted that the national economic growth continues to experience positive movements, attributed to an increasingly conducive investment climate, which should be utilized by business people.

He advised that improvements and additions to infrastructure to increase mobility should continue to be utilized.

“Currently, almost 3 thousand kilometers of toll roads are operating throughout Indonesia. For this reason, we appreciate the government; this road infrastructure opens up connectivity between regions, making business activities more accessible,” he added.

Later, there will also be seminars related to information and business potential by trusted experts at GIICOMVEC 2024.

The GIICOMVEC exhibition is open to business people only from March 7 to 9, while it is open to the public on public day March 10.
